What is your creative process like, do you have to be inspired or is it strictly creativity?
“I say both, but more so creativity because I like to do stuff nobody would do. If I hear a beat and it’s five of us in a room and I’m the only one feeling it, that will make me want to do it because no one else will like it. I know I will twist it up a way where everyone like the song but hates the beat, so I’m more so for the creativity” What is the importance of having a good circle around you? “Very important because you can have a whole crowd with you and they are not feeling you and not trying to support you or push you, why are they even around. Everybody around me, the energy I give I expect that same energy back” What are the most challenging things to put in your music? “Emotions, because a lot of people don’t speak on their feelings in songs. In most dudes, even me, you’ll hear “f--- this person, F--- that person instead of expressing their feelings. Really with feeling music people laugh at that, and when I say feelings it can even be something deep about your childhood or past, and someone from your city won’t take you seriously. You put your feeling in songs they laugh but you talk about ignorant s---- they love it" Does your mental health play a role in the music? “Defienlty. Now it does but for a while, it didn’t, as you grow, you grow into things you realize a lot of different stuff. A lot of people put their mental health on hold and I use to be one of those people until I learned to express it through my music, instead of talking to somebody that’s how I talk to somebody, that’s my therapy." Any hardships that made you want to stop if so how did you overcome them? “It’s been times I’ve felt like I hit rock bottom for example if you would’ve asked me six months ago, I’d say I’m not dropping no more music. I use to get really pissed off if I drop a song I love and don’t get the reaction I wanted it would make me not want to do music, but once I got to the point where I didn’t do music for the people but for myself that’s when the confidence came in”. Do you have any goals after music? “I want to start my own enterprise, I want to do everything in the entertainment business period, once I am done doing what I’m doing I want to put other people younger than me on the right track. I really want to be a behind the scene businessman” |
