Where in Canada are you originally from?
“I always say Vancouver because it is the main city but I am an hour and half away, living out in Whistler, canada. I'm kinda back and forth but mainly grew up in whistler”
How did the journey with music start?
“I've been doing music my whole life pretty much, I grew up singing, started when I was a baby then got really into music when I was thirteen. I learned to play piano, Guitar, and write songs. Throughout highschool i started to learn how to produce and record myself. Since then I have been writing and recording trying to learn as much as i can.”
Do you have musical background?
“ I don't actually ,which is why my family always finds it funny that i'm so into music, because they aren't musical at all. My grandpa sang a little bit but other than that he wasn't into music.”
What instruments are you experienced with?
‘I play the guitar, piano, and ukulele, but I don't play the ukulele as much.”
Do you think there is a significant difference in music culture given that you are from Canada?
“I would say it is the same as America. Whistler there's not a crazy amount of music, but when I moved to vancouver, I realized how much music there actually was there. I feel like a lot of it was more Hip Hop and rap but there's still a lot of pop culture there, kinda similar to LA. I was surprised when I found out how many were actually rapping and making hip hop music.”
Which genre of artist would you put yourself under?
“I would say pop and r-n-b. Mainly pop but I do enjoy r-n-b”
Where do you find your inspiration when writing songs?
“ I always get asked this question, I just make it. If I find a cool beat I like, I'll use logic and sing melodies. I'll make melodies and write how I'm feeling. It kinda just happens and flows together.”
Do you create from home?
“Majority of the time I make demos as far as I can go, if I really like a song I'll either send it to a producer to finish the song and work with someone on it, or I'll do it myself. So it's kinda half and half.”
Do you like working alone or with others better?
“I like to write on my alone. I like to sit in a room and sing melodies and say what I want without being judged, then I get a second opinion. I do like cristim but I think just because I have written a lot by myself, I'm not the biggest fan of writing with other people.”
What would you be doing right now if you hadn't chosen to become a musician?
“I grew up biking, skiing, and skateboarding so I would do it for fun but try to get involved with filming. But music has always been the main thing, I don't really have a plan B.”
Who has been your musical inspiration both then and now?
“ I really liked pop artists like James Blunt and Maroon 5 when I was younger. Now I really like artist like Kid LAROI, Justin Beiber, Ed Sherman.”
Which song do you think is the best you've released?
“My newest song, For another. I really like that song because it was an experience. I went to LA for the first time and made four songs with producers I've been working with. It was a very fun trip so I feel like I like that song because of the experience I had while I was making it. Other than that my song Gravity would be second because I really like it.”
Did your visit to LA change how you felt about your musical career?
“It was crazy! I went to a music school in vancouver so I was envole with more music and working with other people and meeting people who are like minded. I went to LA and it was a full new ball game, everyone i met was so focused and on a mission. If i could i would want to go spend more in LA, meeting new people and making music, and get my name out there.”
Where do you see your musical career in the next year?
“Continue to grow my fan base, I hope to get into more song writing with/for other people and producing with/or people. I want to get better all around so I can write and produce my own music and for other artists.”
“Ep coming in the fall - first time EP.
